Most Expensive iPhone App

No. First tell me, is it really worth it? You bought an iPhone for say, $599, and when, at many instances, paying a meager amount of $9.99 for even the most useful iPhone apps is no less than a back-breaker for you, why on earth would you pay for an app that's much, much more expensive than your phone itself? Makes me wonder, that app sure must be having mystical abilities. Like, predicting future? stock market? Or even solving relationship issues? Why, otherwise, would it be declared worldwide as the most expensive iPhone app? Well, what if I tell you that it contributes to building careers? Ahaan… there your eyes pop out! An application that might just be worth it. Wait a minute, I do not take any guarantee of shaping your careers, people. Instead, I'm just going to spill the beans about what all can it do. It's, indeed, a useful app for students. Okay, let me just reveal it all to you, right away. All in the next segment. Follow in!

The Most Expensive iPhone Application

Do you remember an app called I am Rich that Apple put forth for its devotees sometime in 2008? Do you know the cost of it? A big, fat amount of $1000. One thousand dollars - for nothing. You'd be startled to know what it did. For those filthily rich, this application displayed a red gem onto their Apple iPhone screen, to tell the onlookers that there is a lot of money in the owner's bank! And what's even more startling is the fact that eight people bought it too. It comes as no surprise to me if you're questioning the sanity of this application.

Never mind, this time, Apple is back with a rather useful iPhone app for its fans. The name is BarMax CA, again for a thousand dollars. The name doesn't indicate anything. Instead, it helps law students in preparing for the bar exam, the reason being its name synonymous to BarBri, that offers the same test prep for approx $3500. This app is over 1 GB in size. It wouldn't be wrong to consider it as the largest app lying in the Apple store. As the name suggests, BarMax CA is meant for the Bar exam held in California. However, the company is soon going to make this app available to New York, along with many other states for the exam. Ranging from more than a thousand pages of study material, practice essays, sample tests, multiple-choice questions, audio lectures, and flash cards, this application is one of its kind. Wow, imagine, your vacant book shelf lying orphan in a lonely corner of your room, for now, you've all you need to study for the bar exam, right in your pocket!

The originator of this idea is a former law student, Mike Ghaffary, who himself prepared for the bar exam. He, along with some successful iPhone application developers in Los Angeles, created this application. No doubt Apple loved this giant application! Apart from BarMax, there are a few other applications which, undoubtedly, know how to lighten your wallets. In other words, here's a brief about all the applications which make it to the list of the most expensive iPhone apps. Have a go:

    * Ira Pro: Priced at $899, with the help of this app, one can view and manage rich-scale enterprise surveillance camera installations in corporations, administration, institutions, etc.
    * MATG - SAP BusinessOne: Priced at $499, this app hooks into SAP's BusinessOne management software that is created for sales representatives, and marketing executives.
    * PDR Quote: You could fetch this app for $349, as it is a business software for auto repair. It is comprised of a gigantic database of cars, and it creates invoices, forms, etc. too.
    * Lexi-Dental Complete: Okay, this one would cost you approx. $299, for it is a dentistry repository. Countless dental images, scans, etc. are what this application boasts the most of.
    * ROSIE Home Automation: Priced at $199, this is a home automation system that controls the electronic devices in your house. You could use it to control AV systems, lights, and security too. I think, this is a cool app for iPhone!

However, on a personal note, if I were to be convinced over buying an application like BarMax, even when I had such a big amount in hand, I'd refrain. Not because I question the performance of this app, but I really don't get in my head how many law aspirants would study from a mobile phone in reality? There are a number of websites on the web which provide study material for online education for price much lower than BarMax, which is, till date, the most expensive iPhone app. 2010, however, soon meets its end, and the year 2011 is looked upon with great expectations and innovativeness. A few of the above popular iPhone apps may or may not be value for money. But if you're a tech-devotee, you could try them at least once for it's the brand name of Apple you are betting upon! Let's just wait for the fifth generation of iPhone, iPhone 5g, that is expected to set new records, just like BarMax did.
