Nutritional Value
Chicken Soup from the earlier times is considered to be an effective concoction for cough and cold. It is a folk decongesting agent, the steam of which helps in clearing the sinuses. It also slows and tones down the effect of flu. Chicken soup also has anti-inflammatory effect that could get you temporary relief from the symptoms of cough, cold or flu.
It is also a low fat food since the fat is continually removed as and how it is cooked. Adding turkey in the chicken soup since turkey contains iron can increase the food value. Soups also retain the nutritional value of the vegetables and the chicken that is lost in all other kinds of food in the process of frying and cooking. Soups have a two-fold function of pacifying our taste buds as well as providing the required nutrition. Chicken Soup is easy to cook, delicious to have and being a simple mixture, can also be digested easily.
This recipe was a simple Chicken Soup. It can be made in a number of ways and there are number of recipes for the same. Chicken Noodle Soup is quite popular among all these varieties.
Recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup is as follows:
Ingredients
Put the onion, garlic, clove, carrot and capsicum in the oil-coated pan and wait for the vegetables to be cooked, not browned. That would take about 5-6 minutes. Keep stirring it so that the vegetables do not get overcooked. Now pour in the chicken broth and boil the mixture. Then add the noodles and simmer the soup until the noodles are soft. Now put in the chicken pieces and cook it for another couple of minutes. Once made, when serving garnish with parsley and to add taste add some salt and pepper.
Chicken noodle also has almost the same nutritional value as the simple soup. Some people find the simple chicken soup too bland; this might appeal to their taste buds. Another important thing while going through or any chicken soup recipe, for that matter, remember for those who don’t know that chicken broth or stock is the water in which the chicken is boiled so do not throw away the water and as is obvious the first step to make the soup would be to boil the chicken first. Enjoy the weather and the chicken noodle soup.
